Wishing you a Happy Birthday, Carolyn!                

 

We’re so glad to have an opportunity to share a few appreciations with you on your 80th birthday. 

 

As we looked through our photos we realized that all of our photos of you also include Sanford. It’s such a pleasure to be in the uplifted vibration of your happy, harmonious marriage. 

This photo from our flower walk along at the Yuba River is just one example of the many times we’ve come together in relaxed and happy camaraderie and friendship. Other times we treasure are the delicious dinners (always made extra-special by the beautiful table you set), movie nights (when sometimes we were so engrossed in conversation we never did watch a movie), and porch visits (such a deep blessing for keeping a heart connection during Covid). 

 

Yogananda spoke about the importance of "remaining even-minded and cheerful amidst the crashing of worlds,” Carolyn, you epitomize these qualities with your equanimity under all circumstances! 

Our whole world seemed to crash with the results of the 2016 election. And then you reminded us that this was just the breakdown before the breakthrough. Your words, inspired by Barbara, continue to be a touchstone that we refer to again and again during this unsettled time of great transition. 

You were there for me when I personally “crashed”—taking a bad fall and receiving a concussion—showing up with flowers the next day! I was a mess. But you were her usual calm Self, and your presence soothed my jagged nerves. 

You remained just as centered when you were the one who took a fall—even a broken bone didn’t ruffle her inner peace. Such a good example for us!

 

To be in your company is to be in the presence of someone who is anchored in the Truth of who they really are, secure and confident in their highest Self, and constantly evolving to greater conscious awareness—this is your gift to us. Thank you! 

We are blessed by her friendship. 

 

It was sweet serendipity that brought you (and Sanford) to our Thursday night meditation, and your presence uplifted the energy of our entire group! It was a time when the we needed a boost, which your high vibration immediately provided. We felt the strong resonance with you after that first evening! We didn't want to get our hopes up that you would come again. But you did…again and again...and soon you were “weekly regulars.” Nothing could have pleased us more! It warmed our hearts when you walked through the door every Thursday. 

 

Carolyn, as we’ve gotten to know you, we’ve come to realize that some of the groups’s spiritual practices aren't necessarily your “flavor” of spirituality, yet you continued to participated whole-heartedly, supporting the group energy in every way. The photo below was taken at our annual Christmas Meditation and Carol Singing…possibly from 2017. (Bruce is behind the camera.)

 

When Covid changed the entire dynamic of the group, you were right there sharing your perspectives, insights, ideas, and suggestions—something you’ve continually done without any ego or personal agenda, solely acting out of the goodness of your heart. 

 

When the next big change in the group arrived with our plans to move to Michigan, you helped us navigate our changing role with thoughtfulness, gentleness, and kindness. You stepped up in a big way, allowing us, as well as the group, to make a smooth transition and take our next steps in growth. We’re deeply grateful that the group has continued, in large part due to your energy, both vibrationally and electronically (Sanford, you’ve made it so very easy for anyone who’s interested to participate as much or as little as they feel drawn to do!)  

 

We remain ever grateful that we “found each other” and that our resonance extends beyond the meditation group into all aspects of our lives.

Thank you, Carolyn, for including us in “spiritual explorations” with others. A perfect example is last month's Solstice Celebration with Patt and David. Bringing us together with the Kyles to share Jeddah Mali’s teachings has been a life-changing experience (especially for Carol). Other connections include the Presence Pod, now centered around The 52 Codes, as well as connections to Unity with the Enneagram class and for Christmas Eve and Easter services. You’ve turned us onto to so many great articles, websites, podcasts, and heart-expanding information. 

 

Although we haven’t made it to the Hummingbird Community yet, we feel a special connection to it through your stories and The Co-Creator’s Handbook—an inspiring and practical book! You’re a wealth of knowledge and wisdom, and your workshop with the Wild Grace Community raised important questions and led to greater clarity for many of us. After we’re with you, we often find ourselves continuing to have “aha” moments based on our conversation. 

 

Thank you for shining your light in our direction. We love you dearly!
